FREE ONLINE MEET-UP ON THE TOPIC:

The Future of Uzbekistan's
Textile Industry: Investment, Export,
and New Business Models

6 October 2026, 10:00 MSK

In advance of the International Forum “Textile Industry of Uzbekistan 2026” (3 December, Tashkent), we invite you to a complimentary strategic webinar. This represents an early stage in shaping the sectoral agenda for the year’s key professional event.

The webinar has been designed as a forum for open dialogue amongst industry leaders, relevant government bodies, businesses, and international partners, where discussions encompass not only current challenges and trends, but also the long-term agenda for the development of Uzbekistan’s textile sector.

At present, the textile industry finds itself at a juncture of systemic and qualitative transformation. Matters of investment attraction, production modernisation, implementation of international quality standards, digitalisation, identification of and entry into new export markets, as well as the development and reinforcement of the national brand, have come to the fore.

SECTORAL RELEVANCE

The textile industry constitutes one of the key sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy, contributing a significant share to the structure of industrial output and exports.

By the end of 2025, the volume of textile product exports reached $2.6 billion, with goods being supplied to 75 countries worldwide. Principal trading partners include Russia, Türkiye, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, China, Germany, and the UAE. Entry was also secured into new markets—Algeria, Angola, Greece, and Kuwait—with finished textile products, knitwear, and woven goods. Compared with 2024, growth in exports of finished products reached 18.5%.

Alongside sustained growth, external pressures persist:

  • requirements from international brands regarding supply chain traceability and environmental sustainability of production;
  • the necessity for equipment modernisation and implementation of digital solutions;
  • shortage of qualified personnel and managerial competencies;
  • intense competition in global textile markets.

Against this backdrop, government policy and international partnership are becoming critical factors for resilience and drivers of sectoral development.
